Welcome to the Canadian ETF Review !Welcome to the
Canadian ETF
Review, our latest mini-web site
exploiting the relative trend
analysis ™ methodology for
finding consistent trends that will lead to profits when applied within your
most comfortable investment
strategy.
Both Canadian ETF Review and our popular TSX TrendWatch currently have the same look-and-feel for ease of navigation, and learning. We're now using a common Visitor Guide which explains the fundamentals of both current and future mini-sites, and a similar Data & Charts workbook format. The Premium Services for both sites are also combined on a common page for easy access and ordering. Exchange traded funds (ETFs) have actually been around for quite some time in the US, and Canadian providers of such funds are quickly catching on. We'll have a detailed information sheet on ETFs available soon, but the core concept is a set of funds that offer instant diversity (like mutual funds), yet trade like stocks and (typically) have much lower expense surcharges built-in (MERs) than mutual funds. The Canadian list is relatively short so far, so our weekly update will offer a profile of one of them to supplement overall commentary on this investment vehicle. As with our pioneering site, the weekly update (ETF Report) is published web log style, so you can go back and review any commentary that you may have missed. The weekly updates are partly just updates, but there is often a mini-tutorial component as well... tips on how to capitalize on the investment strategy employed here. So, don't assume that our previoous entries are stale, just because they're a week, a month, or even a year old. Since our pool of ETFs in Canada is quite small at the moment, our Data & Charts workbook also contains country funds. These trade in the US, but offer some indication of how Canadian ETFs are doing in comparison. After all, there would be no point in buying exclusively Canadian ETFs when the biggest gains are being made elsewhere on the globe. So, that's how we're kicking this off. There will be other features added in time, and eventually a Premium Service covering the huge US market in ETFs, but we definitely believe that we have an excellent complement to our sister site... TSX TrendWatch. When the trends favour Canadian stocks, use that site to pick some favourites. If the Canadian market turns down relative to other countries, look to this site for some instant diversity elsewhere, through country ETFs. Make the most of the site, and don't be afraid to send us some feedback . Posted: Tue - December 26, 2006 at 04:44 PM |
